Terrence C. Kearney brings 30 years of broad healthcare experience and leadership to his role as chief operating officer for Hospira, a leading global hospital products company and the world leader in specialty generic injectable pharmaceuticals. In this role, Kearney focuses on improving efficiencies and collaboration across the business. He leads the global supply chain and manufacturing organizations as well as Hospira's enterprise excellence initiative, which includes the implementation of SAP, the expansion of Six Sigma beyond manufacturing and the introduction of Lean throughout the company.
During his career, Kearney has gained extensive exposure to and involvement with numerous operating and financial activities, focusing on both the device and pharmaceutical sides of the healthcare industry. His management expertise spans domestic and international markets.
At Hospira's inception in 2004, Kearney was named the company's senior vice president of Finance, and chief financial officer. Prior to his career with Hospira, Kearney worked for
Abbott Laboratories, where he served as vice president and treasurer from 2001 to 2004.
In May 2002, he assumed an interim role as vice president for Abbott's Diagnostics Division. Prior to being named treasurer, Kearney served as vice president and controller for Abbott's International Division.
Kearney earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Illinois and has a master's degree in finance from the University of Denver.
